Have you ever forgot the Wi-Fi password and want to retrieve it to use on your phone or to help someone join the same wireless network you are in?
This guide will assist you on how to view saved Wi-Fi passwords in Windows 10.
From the Control Panel
To do this, go to Control Panel > Network and Internet Settings.
Click on View network status and tasks under Network and Internet and click Change adapter settings.
Double click on Wi-Fi wireless adapter.
Click the Wireless Properties button.
Click on Security tab. Then tick the Show characters option to view the Wi-Fi password.
Using Windows PowerShell/CMD
Open Windows PowerShell by searching down at the search taskbar button.
To view the list of the Wi-Fi networks your computer connected at one point, run:
netsh wlan show profiles
To view the Wi-Fi password for a particular network, run:
netsh wlan show profile name="WiFi-Profile" key=clear
The same command will work from CMD as well.
Knowing how to view the currently connected or saved networks on your laptop may come in handy. Rather than trying to ask or look for the tiny sign that shares the password key, you can just view the saved Wi-Fi passwords on your Windows 10.
