Google slides is a presentation program, which is a free tool web-based tool that comes along with office suite provided by Google. By default, Google slides come in a horizontal orientation. Thankfully, with just a few steps, you can perform a few tweaks and change that to a vertical orientation.

Step 1: Open Google slides App
To start off, open your browser and launch the Google slides application. This is done by clicking the 9 dots at the far right corner to access the list of Google applications.
Next, scroll down and click on the Google slides application as shown:
Step 2: Set vertical orientation
Once you have launched Google slides, click on the ‘FIle‘ button on the menu button and then select ‘Page setup‘
This launches the ‘Page setup‘ dialogue as shown below.
Click on the combo box which by default bears the value ‘widescreen 16:9‘ and select the ‘Custom‘ option.
By default this set to 10 X 5.63 in inches
All you need to do is swap the values as shown below to get a vertical orientation of the slides.
As a result, when you check at your slides, it will take a vertical format as shown below
